It is with great sadness the Officers and members announce the death of our dear friend and Life Member of the WPFC Christopher "Devo" Devicaris. Thoughts and prayers for Chris and his family during this difficult time. Rest in Peace brother and continue to watch over us.
Christopher L. DeVicaris, passed away suddenly from acute renal failure on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Chris was 58 years old.
A lifetime Lower Bucks County resident, Christopher graduated in 1982 from Neshaminy Maple Point High School and in 1984 from the Lincoln Technical Institute with a degree in automotive technology. Chris was employed as a school bus driver and transportation dispatcher for the Neshaminy School District since 2008. Chris was also a co-director of Adventureland Day Camp in Bensalem since 1997.
Chris always kept busy and pursued many interests. He was a lifetime member of the William Penn Volunteer Fire Company, and often played Santa Claus riding on the fire truck throughout the area during the holiday season. Chris was a member of Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 61. In his youth, Chris played football and rugby. He enjoyed playing golf, target shooting, watching Philadelphia Eagles games, and going to the movies. Chris was famous for his homemade meatballs and was always recruited to bring them to parties. Chris also lived on the Adventureland property and took advantage of all it had to offer. He loved fishing for carp, using the tractor, and swimming.
Christopher is preceded in death by his parents Louis E. and Judith A. DeVicaris, uncle Chester and aunt Rachael Klabe, and uncle Richard Sgarra.
Christopher is survived by: Suzanne J. DeVicaris (sister), Lisa A. DeVicaris (sister), Jacqueline Sinkler (sister), McKean Sinkler (brother-in-law), Alexander E. DeVicaris (brother), and partner Jenn Larsen, Lauren A. DeVicaris (niece), Dominic Larsen (step-nephew), Andrew L. DeVicaris (nephew), Sophia Larsen (step-niece), David G. Stevens (honorary brother), Margaret (Peggy) Sgarra (aunt), and his beloved English Springer Spaniels Big Lou and Woody.
Chris will also be greatly missed by his large extended family, his camp family, and many wonderful friends and co-workers.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend Christopher’s Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 28, 2022, starting at 10 AM with Presentation at 10:30 AM at the Adventureland Day Camp, 6401 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Christopher’s name can be made to the William Penn Fire Company, 123 Main Street, Hulmeville, PA 19047.
